Graverling Holik Lane To Start Next Monday

Judge J J Perry told the Times the county will gravel Holik lane on the Brookshire Hempstead road. The project will widen improve drainage and be topped with gravel funded from automobile license tax receipts estimated at ten thousand dollars or more this year.

Stolen Ford Recovered After Night Theft

Edward Entrop reported his Ford stolen last Saturday while left on a street near a tent show. The thief, described as a young stranger, fled and the car was later found abandoned in a ditch on Pattison road. Mrs. Max Wander and Miss Iris Legler were in Houston Wednesday.

Lois Peck returned from Houston Friday. Chas Enoett and wife with Rev J Wilson spent last Sunday in Brookshire. Miss Marietta Harvey of Brookshire Rt 1 visits Lucie and Pollybelle Sartain. Mrs E Lawrence went to Houston Friday to visit relatives. Ruth New visiting relatives in Houston. Thaddeus Hutchinson of Houston spent the weekend with N E Hutchinson and wife. Lucie and Pollybelle Sartain visited Houston last Friday. Mrs Tom Lipscomb and family of Houston were guests of Mrs J B Lipscomb Sunday. Sheriff E Lawrence attended to business in the South end of the county last Saturday with his daughter Lois.

Obituary of Jos Wander Passes at 69 in Brookshire

Jos Wander died Friday after years of illness at age 69. A native of Austria and Brookshire resident for thirty years, he ran a mercantile business until 1919. Survived by sons W. W. Wander of Houston and Max Wander of Brookshire, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral in Houston Hebrew rite followed by burial.
