Car Stolen in Taft Recovered in Katy
A Ford coupe stolen in Taft, Texas, was recovered in Katy last week. It was abandoned in front of Gary Johnson's home and later recovered after Mr. Johnson contacted authorities. Deputies say youths stole the car in Taft and were arrested in Lockhart. the father of one of the boys returned the vehicle.

Dr. H. C. Walker announces third anti polio injection for children in Waller County aged one to twenty who received the first two doses in 1965. The third dose will no longer be free. parents should contact their family doctor promptly. Serum is reportedly available for all in the eligible age range and pregnant women at risk. VFW Leaders Attend Midwinter Roundup in Austin

Firemen Respond to Feed Truck Fire in Katy
Firefighters were dispatched at 1 p.m. Monday to extinguish a blaze in a truckload of dehydrated alfalfa in front of Leo Barber's home on Highway 90 in Katy. They cooled the smoldering feed and were later called back Monday evening to tackle a grass fire near the same location.
