Newlywed Couple Injured in Hempstead Auto Crash

Mr and Mrs Perry Robertson suffered injuries in an auto accident near Hempstead. Mrs Robertson lost three teeth and had a deep lip and chin cut needing 15 stitches. Perry Robertson received minor bruises. They were treated locally and then moved to the Wanders home to recuperate.

Sheriff Sale in Waller County Texas Under Brookshire ISD

Brookshire Independent School District wins a tax foreclosure judgment for 48.55 dollars plus six percent interest, against W D Cooper and Dr EBW Bertner. An order of sale issued November 17 1938 directs the sheriff to seize and sell the defendants property in Waller County to satisfy delinquent taxes and costs.

Anderson Receives Federal State Funds for Waller County Roads

Judge AB Anderson reported to the commissioner's court that federal and state funds totaling 1 407 700 dollars were allocated for Waller County road projects. Projects include state highway 78 drainage, highway 142 near Prairie View College, highway 73 bridges over the Brazos river, and feeder roads east of Hempstead. Additional allocations cover topping and engineering on highway 73 to the Fort Bend line, seven miles of feeder road toward state highway 38, and designation of state highway 88 through Waller County expected to ease county maintenance by 1949.
