Royal School Building Program Advances Toward September 1967 Opening
The Times reviews the Royal Independent School District building program led by architect Ernest Wilpitz of Winters and Wilpitz. W. B. Grimshaw Construction Company, Inc. earned a 1.5 million dollar contract in 1966 for a combined high school and junior high facility expected to serve 900 students, with occupancy planned for September 1967. The project, largest in the area, uses a compact air conditioned layout with future expansion and integrated media spaces. Construction is on schedule, supported by electronic cost tracking, and the board president confirms readiness for use in September.
