Brookshire Considers Dial Phone System
The 260 Brookshire area subscribers will vote by a return card on adopting the dial system proposed by Ft Bend Telephone Co. Representatives Butler and Callender met with the City Council. Rates would rise to 1.00 or 1.26 monthly for residences and 4.00 for business. Changeover expected in 18 to 24 months with cards due back before January 6, 1957.

250 Acres Added to Brookshire Municipal Water District
Thirty voters went to the polls last Saturday to decide annexation of 250 acres southwest of the former line. The district voted 20 in favor and 10 against annexation. Inside the district 42 voted for and 13 against the propositions to annex and assume taxes and debts.
