Johnie Marvin Buchanan 59 died at Sugar Land Hospital on Tuesday November 30. Born October 26 1906 in Sabathany Parker County he grew up in Central Texas and finished Rogers High School at 14. He married Lurline Pearson in Houston November 11 1941 and lived to celebrate their fortieth anniversary. He leaves two children M K Buchanan of Houston and Lolita Buchanan Karriker of San Antonio, one brother Carlo Buchanan of Ft Worth, six grandchildren Glynn Daryl Timothy Buchanan and Letitia. He worked as a mechanic for Milie Miller in Katy and later in Katy Gas Plant construction and Humble repairs. He was a devoted family man with few outside interests.

John C. Powell died Monday at Azalea Manor Nursing Home in Sealy. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Sealy Funeral Home with interment in Sealy Cemetery.
