The Katy Independent School District approved its 1963 64 budget with a 1.70 per $100 valuation tax rate. Local Maintenance 1.40 and Debt Service 0.30. Expenditures total 746 824 with capital outlay debt service and fixed charges at 155 520.
All Tiger football fans especially parents of boys on the squad are invited to a meeting in the Auditorium at 8 00 p m Friday night. Attendees can examine protective equipment discuss the approaching season and view a colored 1963 Cotton Bowl Highlight film with sound. The film features the Texas Longhorns versus the LSU Tigers. Katy’s Tigers begin the season Monday at 7 30 a m when all students report for equipment.
Andrew Highrabedian finished a new brick duplex on Seven th Street in Brookshire. The two identical apartments offer electric kitchens, two bedrooms with baths, and finished interiors with mahogany cabinetry, turquoise accents, and off white walls. The east unit is furnished, the west is unfurnished.
Katy High School cheerleaders and twirlers invite students and dates to the Kickoff Dance on Saturday August 24 at 8 00 pm. Attendants include Marisha FH Julie Cummings Rose Ranne Janice Rhe man Karen Robertson Linda Brown Ida Faye Moore and Vickie Cardiff as dates. parents sponsor the event at Flumble Recreation Hall.
