First Election Allows Ladies to Vote at School House
Last Saturday's election at the school house granted women in this state their first voting opportunity. Incumbents were returned in the county with no opposing candidates. In the fifth precinct W A Wilson won cotton weigher over M E Morgan by 76 votes. A J Jordan retained constable, beating J D Wilson. Mesoy Donigan is Brookshire Mercantile Co. manager. Zarah Donigan plans to hunt Hans in Europe. Schulte had The Times sent to him.

Thieves Arrested in Saddle Horse Carload Theft
Cattle men shipped a carload of saddle horses to Dayton Liberty County to round up stolen stock. H D Crowder and relatives blamed along with others were arrested last week. Many cattle moved to Dayton markets or left on the range. over hundred cattle stolen from this range.

Cotton Opening Fast But Crop Is Short
Brazos bottom farmers pick cotton as it opens quickly due to a dry spell causing early maturation and a predicted very short yield. Rain may not help the cotton now but could aid the peanut crop. a half inch rainfall with hail occurred midweek, with more rain expected.
