Katy High School Band under Edward B Boyd won first place in all events at Huntsville contest sponsored by the University Interscholastic League of Texas. Woodwind trio of Carolyn Schlipf Helen Reaves and Ann Wilkinson took ensemble honors. The 63 member group earns regional acclaim and a Blossom Festival invitation, which they decline this year.

Typhoid Immunization Drive Opens in Brookshire
The Brookshire P T A sponsors free typhoid immunizations for all residents. Dr and Mrs Hopkins and Mrs Ray Woods will administer three weekly injections at Brookshire School on Fridays April 21 to May 6 at 1 30 p m. Mrs Woods offers Thursday evening slots April 27 May 4 and May 11 from 7 to 8 p m for those unable to attend daytime sessions. Booster shots advised for those immunized last spring.
