Easter Sunday Services at Brookshire Methodist Church

Easter Sunday will be observed with special services at the Brookshire Methodist church. Rev J 3 Wilson will conduct morning services at 10 30 and Rev J E McGaughy will lead songs. Rev J D F Hauck will preach at night and conduct children meetings. A revival series begins and continues about two weeks with festive music including a solo by Mrs F A.

Easter services at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church Pattison

Easter services will be conducted at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pattison next Sunday at 2 00 o clock. Pastor Lammert invites the congregation to hear on the theme The Glorious Resurrection of Christ. You are urged to attend with relatives and friends. Washington April 4 The Senate Agriculture Committee moved to override President Roosevelt’s veto of a 60 million dollar feed and seed loan bill and to demand a full report from Secretary Wallace on large AAA benefits. Decision surprised leaders as impact of farm loans and promised funds were debated.

Mrs L C Adams Passes Away at 88 in Adams Community

Mrs L C Adams aged 88 years eight months twelve days died at her Adams community home on March 27 1936 She is survived by five sons E C Adams of West Texas Thomas Adams of Dallas John Will Milton Adams of the local area two daughters Mia Etta Patty of Mexia and Mrs Mary Norwood twenty two grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and many relatives Services were held March 28 at 11 00 a m conducted by Rev J D F Hauck Active pallbearers were Robert Avery Frank Norwood Arthur Gregory John Pitts John Smith and W C Martin.

Interesting W M U Program at Brookshire Baptist Church

The W M U sponsored a program Friday night April 8 to raise funds for remodeling the old Independence Baptist church. Speakers included Mrs E P Henry Alma Stout Ed Rapsilver and Earl Cooper directors. The event featured old fashioned costumes and songs such as The Eyes of Texas Long Long Ago and The Little Church in the Wildwood with talks on church needs Baylor University separation and school days.

Recitations and songs mark Baptist Independence Fund event

Mrs Barnum and Mrs Ed Rapsilver presented recitations Curfew Shall Not Ring Tonight and Peter and the Golden Gate. The audience sang Beautiful Texas and Auld Lang Syne while Dorothy Rapsilver and George Rheman Jr performed Silver Threads Among The Gold. A free will offering supported the Baptist Independence Memorial Fund in Houston.
