A long open letter from Boswell W. H. Ghiey former West Virginia secretary of state dated March 9 1898 promotes Peruna as a curative for catarrh and other conditions praising its effectiveness and vegetable composition. Conductor Mabry died after a train collision two miles north of town. Wreck details state Section No 3 traveled about twenty miles per hour, with No 4 close behind. Mabry struck the mangled to aid victims and suffered serious injuries. He later died at the hotel where doctors tried to save him. Mabry’s wife from Roselake arrived here.
