Purge Ticket of Unworthy Candidate Says Prohibition Committee
The Prohibition Executive Committee of Lincoln County urged voters to reject the Democratic floater candidate for the Legislature. They republished a Brookhaven Leader article from July 9, 1891, alleging the candidate is unfit and detailing history about textbook adoption laws, publishers, and a suspected bribe letter from Superintendent Edward Smith relating to Lippincott books.
