Special Bargains in Women's Cotton Waists features lawn waists in sheer white and white with embroidery and lace insertions. Prices range from $1.00 to $2.25, with sale values framed at $1.00 to $1.75 and $1.50 for elaborately trimmed white and colored waists.

Headquarters Sylvester Gwin Camp No 235 UCV Brookhaven Miss announces a May 30 1903 11 oclock gathering to elect delegates for the laying of the empire stone on June 3 1903. Adjutant J M May Zach T Hoskins sign the notice. Card of thanks expresses gratitude for kindness and mentions Dr Applewhite and Brookhaven.
The Graded Public School closes the year with a Crystal Ball program by younger students led by Miss Belle Bowen. Alumnae, now 74, present a strong program with readings by Leona Kitell and an address by Chester Byrne. Seventeen seniors receive diplomas including Ora Lee Johnson and Houston Maxwell. The faculty is renewed, with Prof. Scott returning as principal and P. D. Gnillage re elected for the colored school.
Whitworth 1903 commencement exercises closed the year with a commencement sermon by Dr. W T Bolling of Jackson First Methodist Church. Highlights included diplomas awarded to Florence Hackler and Adele Priechatsch in art and other departments, alumnae night program led by Mrs. Charles Butterfield, and remarks by Hon. Thos Brady urging women to pursue virtuous, beneficial goals.
The Whitworth College commencement week featured a baccalaureate address by Hon. Garland G. Lyell on the theme Success, a presentation of diplomas by Prof. T. P. Scott, and Dr. J. W. Cooper awarding medals for scholarship and achievement. Elizab eth Adams and Edwina Garrett earned top honors, with a notable art levee and an extensive display of student work.
McGrath and Sons held a big bargain sale on May 15 and 16 with strong daily traffic across many departments. The event will continue with a forthcoming sale featuring specials from dry goods gents furnishings shoes clothing and more. Corsets and hosiery will be prominent features of the bargain spread.
Several hundred corsets priced to move will be sacrificed for quantity. White corsets offered at 50c cut to 30c with quality and fit guaranteed. Leading brands at 1.00 reduced to 0.89. Extra quality 1.50 trimmed to 0.89 and 2.00 to 1.25. Some sealed by dust offered at half price.
Advertisement lists quantities of Ladies and Children's hose with various cuts and specials. Includes 100 dozen fast black ladies hose full sizes at low prices, boys extra heavy hose, and mixed lots with reductions from 25 to 19 cents. Also offers ladies hose 35 cents to 25 cents and 50 cent quality at 30 cents.
Ladies' waists offered in a choice assortment with prices reduced from 50c to 39c for shirt waists and from 31.00 to 1.00 for lawn and Madras styles. Madras, Dimity, and White Lawn waists marked down further to 1.19 1.69 and 1.49 for remaining lots. Broken sizes and soiled items available at reduced cost.
