Columbus Miss February 26 Henry R Humphries son of the late Captain William W Humphries drowned this morning at 10 30 on the Tailroad bridge after stepping on a spur and slipping into the swift river current. The river has been high and dangerous the drowning followed a struggle as he attempted to regain the bridge and call for help. Despite efforts by bystanders he disappeared beneath the water as the crowds gathered.
