The Lincoln County Democratic delegates to the state and congressional conventions were chosen at a Brookhaven meeting on Saturday June 1. J A Hart L Blue and WF Smith led a committee to recommend 12 delegates to the Democratic State Convention. Resolutions praised Hooker Dodds and Barksdale for Congress and urged Ram Cassedy to run for U.S. Representative. George S Dodds addressed the gathering before adjournment.

Prohibition Delegates Named for State Convention at Jackson
Lincoln county Prohibitionists met in Court House on Saturday June 14 1900 electing J W Bennett chair and HT Habla secretary. A three person committee named candidates for the state convention to meet July 1 in Jackson. The report was adopted and the delegation approved with travel by reduced railroad fare upon certificate. The meeting adjourned sine die. A later note reports a Brookhaven incident over disinterment of Chas Goitein with legal actions pending against Natty and others, followed by a community notice of church and civic events and upcoming teachers' institutes.
