On December 18 Charli Crane, aged about 75, of Perel County, attempted to cut his throat with a razor and is in critical condition. Dr K Cowart was thrown from a lot of worms. a bizarre line about health is noted. Shriner's Indian hermitage is mentioned as a remedy.
A jumble of 19th century patent medicine advertisements touts Dr Jers Tow de and Prickly Ash Bitters as universal cures. It promotes Kendall's Spavin Cure for horses and Shiloh's Vitalizer for digestive and liver complaints, with testimonials and free cure offers directed to readers in New York and surrounding areas.
An advertisement extols Shiloh's Consumption Care with a Boarbon Ind minister Rev Geo H Thayer claiming it saved his life and his wife. It notes for sale through the firm Danghiry & Snglie and urges readers to consider the remedy.
