The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors renews the Stonewall Guards armory lease on the northwest courthouse square for a year from January 9 1904 with strict use as armory and sheriff to take possession if violated. It approves per diems for road work on east and west railroad sides and orders J C Bryant and John Walker to lay out a public road through the county farm, with a January report required. The board accepts D D Posey resignation as county farm superintendent effective December 24 and notes bridge considerations on Shaw Creek deemed unnecessary. Per diem and mileage payments are approved for several officials and adjournment set.
E S Peters, president of the Texas Cotton Growers Protective Association, urges Southern growers to hold cotton at 15 cents per pound. In Washington he cites a Bureau of Statistics report estimating 9,962,000 bales and warns against selling below value, advising growers to resist middlemen and corner schemes.
