In past years electors met on both dates. lawyers say federal law supersedes state law and governs this year as well.

Mr and Mrs Louis Clark have a new boarder without charge. Illness of Mrs J W Welch mentioned. well wishes for recovery. Della and Ruth Hart attended a wedding at Mr and Mrs John Grice’s. Walter and Pierson Welch left for St Louis Fair then New York for school. Sympathy to Rankin Brown family over fire loss. Christmas and weddings cited.
The Thursday holiday opening at Price's Drug and Jewelry Store drew sun and crowds as College girls added brightness to a Japanese themed decor. Chas Smith showcased gold watches diamonds brooches and engraved glassware while a busy improvised stairway drew shoppers. Miss Myrtis Wentworth played piano and dainty souvenirs delighted visiting ladies during the successful event.
Magnolia Mississippi November 28 Deputy Sheriff C D Miller shot and fractured the leg of John Felder a Black man with a Winchester rifle near Harrison Prescott two miles east of Magnolia. The fight followed a large craps game at a participant's house with whisky flowing freely. Felder appeared to draw a weapon prompting the deputy to fire striking his leg. Five Black men were reportedly injured while law enforcement sought to enforce a Sunday law.
