Local Meetings Report in Lincoln County Political Alignments
The Lincoln Democracy condenses county meeting actions from last Monday. Delegates were elected with various instructions for Floater and Representative votes. several precincts named leaders and delegates and issued voting guidance. A split occurred at Caseyville with two factions choosing separate delegates and no further instructions. A Grand Union Camp Meeting for colored people is set for August 26 near Brookhaven with a large committee and invited clergy. Protracted meetings at Union Hall proceed with notable local preachers and stylish hospitality by Caton Mathers.
