Town items report visits and local events from Wesson to Brookhaven. Mrs. Weathersby guests, millinery opening today, cottage on Millsaps street, and hospitalities at Crystal Springs. Miss Jessie Gunn set for Brookhaven shows April 7 and 8 with a celebrated double-voiced soprano act.
The Lincoln County Baptist Association held its ministers deacons and laymen union at Bogue Chitto with large attendance. T. Douglass and L. P. Kees were elected moderator and clerk, and a program on Sunday school work and modern teaching methods was discussed by local pastors and W. E. Farr. The group adopted thanks to Bogue Chitto hosts and planned next meeting at Mt. Moriah church the fifth Sabbath in May.
Julian C. Fairman, a respected Brookhaven farmer aged between 70 and 80, was struck and fatally injured by a switch engine on a branch line near the Illi nois Central depot. He died within minutes after being moved to a neighbor’s residence. He leaves an aged wife and no children and long served as a local justice of the peace.
