Mrs Bernice Graczyk of 48382 Joliet Avenue Lyons died September 18 and was buried in Resurrection Cemetery Monday September 25. Mansfield Funeral Home of Lyons arranged services at St Hugh's Church. Good Neighbors Event Raises Funds at Gross School

The Good Neighbors competition staged last week at Gross grammar school, under the Woman's Society of Christian Service of Brookfield Methodist church, drew keen participation. Winners included Mrs. Pauline Brunner and Mrs. A Heald on Wednesday night, and Mr. Sites and Mrs. Kratoska with Lennie as master of ceremonies on Thursday. The committee reports the project a success and thanks business contributors, ticket sellers, and all who assisted.

Brookfield Attorney Named in Alienation Suit

Philip Stewart, radio executive, accuses Brookfield attorney Paul B. Fischer of blackmail in a $175,000 alienation of affections suit. Stewart alleges his wife Mrs. Stewart, 24, had an affair with Fischer, who rejects the claim and serves as her counsel in a divorce case filed for cruelty. Investigations followed sightings of Fischer and Mrs. Stewart embracing in a taxicab, with letters found at Stewart’s home. Fischer, longtime Brookfield solicitor, denies any basis for the suit.

Information received this week confirms Krafke traveled to Belgium and on to Prague before visiting relatives of himself and his wife. Letters arriving Monday suggest he plans to fly back to the United States and is expected to return to Brookfield around October 11.

The Moose women held a September 3 meeting focusing on war relief with Mrs. Clifton speaking on the Red Cross and needs for support. Transportation discussion on the Bluebird lines drew testimony from Roy Wintermute public works chief A A Allen village clerk and realtors Arthur Fossier A W Rhamstine Martin Braun and Millar.
