Baboons Take Over Monkey Island at Brooxfield Zoo
Fifty two baboons moved from winter quarters to Monkey Island at Brooxfield Zoo. Most were Guineas with four exceptions. Eighteen are long-time summer residents. Rhesus monkeys previously lived on the island but fell to Spectacled Bears who were moved to bear pits. Bears displaced the monkeys, and island stock now centers on baboons.
