Public Service Company proposes gas rate changes
Public Service Company of Northern Illinois filed March 15 1951 with the Illinois Commerce Commission a new gas service Schedule 6-7. The merger of Western United Gas and Electric and Illinois Northern Utilities into Public Service combines four prior schedules into one uniform rate plan for the entire service area. The proposal foresees no revenue increase overall based on 1950 use, with lower residential commercial and firm rates but higher interruptible and large industrial charges. Interruptible rates expire May 1 1951 and extend to May 1 1952 under increased rates. Copies and details available from the company or the ICC in Springfield Illinois.
