No Decisions At Top of State By Young GOP
Members of the Young Republicans of Lyons township held a second endorsement meeting in Cassitt school auditorium with about 50 members and as many attendees, ending without endorsements after lively discussions on candidates for governor and president. Jim Ashby presided, with reports supporting secretary of state candidates and several judges. final ballot endorsements were limited to a few, while major offices like governor and president yielded no two thirds majority. Hooper advocated Eisenhower, arguing he could carry New York and appeal to independents, with other speakers backing Taft and Dewey in broader party balance.
