St Barbara's eighth graders celebrate graduation banquet
St Barbara's Mothers' Club hosted a banquet for the eighth grade graduates on Monday evening at the Swedish Tech venue. After dinner the party returned to the school hall for dancing with music by Sy Mr. Nessidal. The two featured pieces included a diploma for the boys and a talisman for the girls, presented by Mrs. Ha citk. Guests included Rev. Stokes, Marie Slomka, past president Frangen, Marguerite Traitor, Sue Grignai and Jean Sorr.

Lieut William T Gross Brookfield born Jan 13 1917 died Feb 11 1943 in China while commanding a bomber unit en route from Morrison field West Palm Beach to the Far East. His name will replace Stars and Stripes post to become William T Gross Post No 99. He attended Congress Park and Lyons High School and Michigan State College before enlisting in December 1939.
