Clyde H. Mitchell Buried at Oak Ridge in Brookfield

Funeral services were held for Clyde H. Mitchell 68 owner of Mitchells Boulevard Grocery, who died January 9 after a long illness. He had lived in Brookfield about three years after moving from Edison Park. Survived by wife Helen C. nee Pelta, son Robert C, daughters Virginia L Margery H Mitchell and Katherine Frost, three grandchildren, three brothers and a sister in Michigan. The Rev. Jones of First Congregational Church led the service at Paloueck Funeral Home. He belonged to Ouiney Ledee No 485 AP A M Michigan, Brookfield Post No 6858 VFW and was past commander of Royce V Wallace Post No 845 American Legion Chicago.

LTHS Home School Council slate advance at meeting

The LTHS Home School council executive board formed a nominating committee to prepare a slate of officers for the coming year. Senior leaders Min Collins, Charles Sawyer, Mrs Lewis, Mrs Rinker, and William Goerh were named, along with Barbara Pisen for Girls. The session covered Christmas tea, Valentine plans, Career Day on Feb 25, a new honor system in the Hlener Study Hall, Sports Night plans, and a new Boys Club directory to be issued soon.

New Registration For Top Graders In Skating Fete

More than a hundred seventh and eighth graders joined the URC top graders group since fall. Sarsariary Floces and Mrs Dorothy Walters registered 45 members for the Winter Season. Registration continues at the next meeting Thursday at 7 pm in the Hollywood community house. The final registration sets skating party eligibility for the next event at Spet-Licht roller rink in Tatye. Depart at 6:45 pm from the unity house. skating runs 7 to 9. Transportation and fees cover 50 cents for shoes.

Health Study Group to Meet Tonight at LTHS

Health Study group at LaGrange area school hosts speakers Dr G Henrys Mundt Jr and Dr N O T Welford. The session starts at 6:80 PM, featuring readings on disabilities. The group formed by the Community Coordinating Council of LaGrange and LaGrange Park.

William A. Emard aged 64 of Brookfield passed away on December 15 after living on Prairie Ave for 30 years. Funeral services were held December 18 at Mansfield Funeral Home led by Rev George Vulgaris of Vaith Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment followed at Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Survived by wife Julia nee Marousek, father, sisters Jenny Uribe and Lillian Emard, brothers Harry George Leo and Frank all of Los Angeles. A son Alfred of LaGrange and four grandchildren Terry Garry Eirda and Richard Land.

Lincoln meeting at Mrs Bergstrand hosts school band Parents

A Tuesday evening gathering at Mrs G Bergstrand’s home included Lincoln and Gross Park band parents and board members. About 15 attendees noted a break in at the old Lincoln school building on Jan 19 with a broken window and mittens found scattered. janitor John Reuss Lyons reported the window had long been broken and thieves may have entered.
