Lincoln School PTA will meet Tuesday evening at eight in the school. The program features a two panel discussion on report cards and school visitation led by Principal H. Armgard. The girls glee club will sing and second grade students will provide additional entertainment.

Higgins recently completed a term as President of the Friends of American Writers and is a noted reviewer for several clubs in the Chicago area. She will review Kenneth Reber's new Christmas release Lydia Pailey for the local group.
Funeral rites for Frank Melichar age 44 were held Saturday at Mansfield Funeral Home with Riverside Lodge 862 officiating. Cremation followed at Bohemian National Cemetery. A carpenter for Western Electric, he had lived in Brookfield for 30 years and is survived by his widow Bernice and Antoinette Peters.
Peter Murton 77 died December 27 at his Ogden Avenue home. Funeral services were held Monday December 9 from a chapel on Madison Avenue with interment in Waldheim Cemetery. A village resident for years he was born in England and owned a general contracting firm. Survived by his widow Rose and a brother William of Phoenix Arizona.
Funeral services set for Rudolph Jilek 56 of 4026 Prairie after a lengthy illness. Services will be Saturday at Mansfield Funeral Home with cremation at Bohemian National Cemetery. Survived by widow Mary, daughter Henrietta, sister Cherry, and brother Terandaon.
A party at Donald Gardner’s Vernon Avenue home Saturday January 4 marked the birthdays of Joel Gardner and Pete Mirkus. No engagements were announced though two couples were named, Tony Wreble and Evelyn Turnes, and Melvin Dunning and Rosemary Saunders. Both celebrants are Lincoln and LTHS graduates.
Cupboard maintains three game lead at Brookfield Manor league after defeating the Manor. High series overall was 533 by Swan with a 202 game, while Hen Hardware posted the highest series and game, and W. Toman led both departments for individuals with RRL ATA.
The District 204 board planned a Wednesday night meeting at the high school to open bids on $285,000 in bonds for financing an addition. Excavation has begun in the basement, but building started late due to snow and cold weather.
Brookfield Kiwanis club held an augural dinner at Hollywood Community house. New officers taking office were Wes Kurth president John Schrade vice president Ben Block secretary and Arthur Malcom treasurer. New board members were George Geanopolis C F Clai and H A Sadler Frank S Kanelos Hollywood attorney was the new member installed. Guest speaker was Dr Carl Winters minister of Oak Park Baptist church. Installation ceremonies were conducted by Dan Kulie past president.
The Hollystood TA will hold its first regular monthly meeting on Tuesday January 14 at Hollywood school starting 2 45 p m. All members and friends are urged to attend. Home economist Mise Madge Little from the American Milk Institute Inc will speak on A Talk of Food. Hosts are Mesdames Anderson Rogeness and Joratad.
