A flurry of birthday greetings and parties fills the week as families honor six year old George of Blanchanave on Feb 18 and celebrate young Jad Shebetty’s event with sisters and guests. Messages extend sorrow for Mrs Mahoney of Chicago and condolences to the family.
Rob Fiala hosted a Saturday evening party in Maple with Tenia and Winifred Chapek. Guests included Henry Reunsen, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Pia, Mrs. Ashhurst, and Mrs. Ashurat visiting from out of town. Several residents celebrated birthdays and anniversaries, with clubs and sewing circles meeting in the area.
Judge Frank Kanelos addressed the Lincoln School PTA on Keeping a Good Child Good, warning careless parents and stressing family school and church roles in preventing delinquency. Miss Jarmela Speta entertained with three accordion pieces. Membership reached 277 with March 5 cut off.
The Brookfield Recreation commission thanks the Lions Club for a pleasant evening and dinner at the Valentine party. They commend the club for taking on the paper pickup as their project for the year and note added manpower will help launch an extensive spring and summer program dependent on village support for the Lions Club sponsored paper drive on April 28.
About 75 attended the Brookfield Kiwanis club hosted Valentine Ladies night at the Lobster House on February 14. Village Manager Bash and guests were introduced alongside new members Dr. S Dayon Huff and others. The meeting featured a prize fight TV showing, a paper pickup drive plan, and new member initiations led by club officers.
The Hollywood Woman's auxiliary of the Hollywood Community Church will meet Thursday at 1:30 pm in the Hollywood Community House. Mrs. J. B. Kosner of Washington Ave will speak on Experiences in Europe Today. Mrs. Harold Nunes hosts and invites the public.
