Congregational Players Stage Norfolk Area Performances
The Brookfield Congregational Players featured a run of productions from 1947 to 1950 including a Wakefield trip spoof, a three act farce In Again Out Again, a charity performance for National Kids Day, and melodramas The Widow's Plight and The Campbells Are Coming. Members performed under assumed names, with Al Roderdahl narrating the first skit and Alta Kellogg directing several shows. The group raised funds for the church and honored long-time volunteers while highlighting a strong community theater effort in Wakefield hall and Gross School venues.
