The obituary notes Terezija Held died August 24 at her home in Lane. Mrs. Jo Horvath hosted the services at the Mansral home Tuesday with Rev. Wilfred officiating and J. F. in charge of arrangements. The Woodlawn memorial was mentioned.

The American Legion Juniors of Edward Feely Post No 190 schedule the first meeting for Sept 3 at 7 15 PM in the Legion hall. Junior activities include making tray favors and ableteers for veterans at Hines, Christmas gifts by members, and serving the community. Esther Ebert will be installed as president at the October meeting, with Marie Brunson as Junior Activities chairman.
Lenny Kratoska welcomes Harry Miller of Norfolk Conn to his Hollywood residence this week. Kratoska once ran a radio station in England during military service and entertained thousands of service members as musician and announcer. He now works with WHFC and will MC the Breakfast in Hollywood Show on Sept 24–26 at Gross School.
The Chicago Board of Education offers a veteran refresher program at Crane Technical High School 2245 West Jackson Boulevard. Courses are taken individually to speed learning and allow subsistence GI benefits while attending. Next registration date is September 2 in Crane Tech's office.
Mrs. Mabel Kelly of West Newton Pennsylvania died in MacNeal Hospital after becoming ill two days after arriving to visit her daughter Mrs. William H Taylor of 4027 Oak Avenue. The remains were sent to West Newton for burial Monday morning from Mansfield Funeral.
The Brookfield Health center at 3837 Praine Avenue will hold its monthly diagnostic chest clinic Friday Sept. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. Open to patients with no prior medical care. referred patients by private physicians examined by appointment. Dr Julius B Novak, medical consultant of The Tuberculosis Institute of Chicago and Cook County, and nurse Mrs Elmi Huff assist in examinations.

Footings on the new thirty five thousand dollar Nemec garage at 3637 Woodside Avenue have been completed. Bricklayers have started on the walls and the building will replace the Hollywood Service station and repair shop Nemec has operated in Hollywood for 13 years.
