Veterans GI bill enrollment up to four years for veterans
About 52 020 veterans, including 20 000 first time applicants, plan to enroll in Illinois colleges this fall on a full time basis. Officials note potential increases from out of state veterans. an estimated 2 500 disabled veterans will enter rehabilitation training under Public Law 16. The Servicemen's Readjustment Act known as the GI bill covers up to four years of education for qualifying World War II veterans who served at least 90 days and earned an honorable discharge.

Funeral services were held at Mansfield Funeral Home for Alexander F. Bruno 50 of 4856 W North Ave Chicago formerly of Brookfield. He died Sunday night at a Chicago hospital. Interment at Chapel Hill Garden. Bruno a World War I veteran member of the American Legion.
