Vacation Return From Eureka Springs Ark

Mra. A. Johnson of 27290 Park are and sow, Mr and Mra. Floyd Johnson, and daughters Arlere and Leis, have returned from a two weeks vacation trip to Eureka Springs Ark. They began at Springfield and visited Lin ceolns tomb and other ports. They stayed at the Crescent hotel known as the Castle in the Air on a hill with an observatory. They also visited Osage Beach and other nearby places.

Emergency call saves life after heart attack in Brookfield

At about 10 PM a Brookfield resident phoned an LaGrange operator for help after her father-in-law suffered a heart attack. Operator Ruth Winslow and supervisor Bresowar mobilized a doctor and police, with an inhalation squad arriving soon. The patient was declared out of danger. Police and doctor credited swift action for saving the life.

Methodist Bible School Closes Sessions August 22

The Daily Vacation Bible School of Brookfield Methodist Church will close with a program on Friday August 22 at 7 15 p m. Handicraft displays run from 6 30 to 7 15 p m. One hundred fifty six children registered and average attendance is 132. Mrs Harold Hammatt is general superintendent with 34 adult leaders assisting.

Clarence Uhlich Dies Fortnight Following Wife

Clarence Uhlich died two weeks after his wife. Merle, a US Marine at Camp Pendleton, was likely to be released soon to be with two younger children. He had been active in Boy Scout work and local recreation groups and helped found a Model Railway club at EMC. Mrs. Uhlich had been ill briefly before passing.

GM seeks 25 acre buffer around jet plant near Willow Springs

A hearing held Friday in Willow Springs reviewed General Motors Corp demand to create a 300 foot wide residential buffer zone east of the Edgewood Valley country club. The 25 acre area would stretch from 75th street extended to 79th street and lie 1300 feet east of Willow Springs road.

Boy, 6, Run Into Car Injures Child in Park Ridge

Six year old Wayne Olson of Park Ridge was injured August 3 when he ran into a car driven by Richard Kinney, 15, of 1416 Sunsetter in Western Springs. He sustained facial and body abrasions.

John Newman age 9 was bitten on the left leg by a dog at 314 Harrison. The incident was reported to police earlier this week and the boy was taken to Berwyn Hospital for treatment.
