Frances Brode former Brookfield resident dies

Frances Brode nee Vrzak of Westmont Illinois died recently. Funeral services were held Monday August 16 from the funeral home 109 forth Cassave Westmont with interment in Clarendon Hills cemetery. Survived by daughter in law Dorothy Sengstock mother in law of George grandmother of John George Phyllis and Albert sister Stasia Stump John and Charles Wreak. Mr and Mrs Brode were well known in Brookfield residents of the village for many years.

Antoinette Peters aged 73 died August 13 and was buried Monday at Bohemian National Cemetery after services at Mansfield Funeral Home Brookfield. She had been a patient six months at Cedderberg Nursing Home in Downers Grove. Survived by three daughters, Aoife Boese Knox, and eight grandchildren.

Harry P. Harrington Buried in St. Joseph's

Harry P. Harrington, formerly of Brookfield, died in a Chicago hospital on August 7 after a short illness. He was the father in law of Ralph Lindberg of Brookfield. Funeral services were held August 11 at Neps Funeral Home, 64 Ogden Ave. Mass followed at Barbara's Church. Interment was in St Joseph's Cemetery, River Grove.

Brookfield Hails Dedication Work Of Recreation Leader Emil Ehlert

At the community picnic eight weeks into the recreation program Brookfield praised Emil G H Ehlert village trustee and father of the program for his unpaid work with youth. A dedication ceremony for the new South Park is planned within a month or six weeks and will be named in honor of the late Ehlert. The evening featured films by Mr McCullough and Mr Radke showing the Fourth of July parade recreation float archery arts and crafts swimming tennis golf Farm League Pony League and a Little League trip to Sox Park. Flyers about these efforts will be shown to civic groups PTA and others and arrangements can be made by phoning the Recreation Office.
