Magnet Invited To Broadcast Via WRGK
The Brookfield Magnet was invited to present newscasts over WRGK this week by owner George Ives. He proposed three weekly newscasts of 151 minutes each. Ives described a 15 ft aluminum tower with an eight mile radius, and when a 200 ft tower is installed the radius would reach 26 miles. He obtained a permit from the Federal Communications Commission last year for temporary operation with power watts. Since July 18 Ives has operated on an intermittent schedule with plans to expand. He sources aero discs from World Transstation Service New York and uses a system of rotating turntables and discs to present matters. The program is described as largely local in character, with further details to continue on page two.
