Brookfield Red Cross drive meets quota with credits over top
The Amrican Red Cross drive in Brookfield Congress Park and Hollywood reported by Mrs A Janda and W A Rowland shows the village meeting its cash quota and excess credits from Chicago. Audited totals list cash of 2849.27 and credits from Chicago and Western Electric bring the grand total to 4049.77. An April 27 meeting at Gross school will honor workers as certificates are awarded and refreshments served.

Mother of Herman Kraft Dead Funeral Friday Afternoon
Elizabeth Kraft 86 mother of Herman Kraft of 8649 Riverside Avenue died at her home Tuesday morning after 10 weeks illness. Funeral services are set for Friday at 2 pm at Mansfield Funeral Home on Grant Boulevard with cremation at Aldheim cemetery to follow. Hollywood Church will oversee the services. Mrs Kraft had lived in Hollywood 35 years. Survived by four children, two sons Herman and Jacco and two daughters Anna and Josephine Lange.

Ernest Blanck of 3320 Elm Avenue died early Tuesday at home after a long illness. Survived by wife Millie Blanck son Edward, sisters Bertha Naumann, and brothers Otto and William Blanck. Funeral Friday at 11 a.m. at Mansfield Funeral Home with Rev. Wilfred Wakefield officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. A Brookfield resident for many years, he will be greatly missed by friends and neighbors.
