Interstate show of increased public service income

Indianapolis March 13 The Interstate Public Service Company reports for the year ending December 31 gross operating income 3 956 407 06 with expenses 2 098 180 13 leaving net 767 892 36. Interurban railway income rose to 1 573 689 05 up 105 percent from 1920 while other utilities gained 92 percent to 2 174 624 42. Fare hikes 4 per cent per mile to 3 cents and new grants for electric and gas service boosted totals. The firm operates an interurban line from Indianapolis to Louisville and street railways at Columbus Jeffersonville and New Albany with lighting and gas in many Indiana towns.

Jury acquits Ross in brother slaying at Marshfield

Williamsport Ind March 17 A Warren county jury found Ralph Ross not guilty of first degree murder in the November 21 1921 garage slaying of his brother Claude Ross. Defense argued temporary insanity claiming a wife confession of the assault. Ross armed with a pistol fired once and surrendered then spoke after the state rested. He left Williamsport with his wife for the farm near Rileysburg.
