Blaze Destroys Oats In Three Farms Field
A fast spreading blaze in the waist field of Roland Ade swept three crops as bone dry conditions and strong winds fueled the fire. It quickly spread to adjoining fields owned by Chas Kindig and W. T. McCray. Help from Brook and nearby farms arrived by telephone and fighters used sacks dipped in water to subdue flames. About sixteen acres on each of the three farms were destroyed.
