Gov Goodrich supports a state purchasng committee resolution to own coal mines and state cars to ship coal to institutions. A Wednesday evening fire destroyed the home farm of Web Set on the outskirts of town. Quines Hood and family, who live there, lost most clothing and nearly all furniture except a few items. The blaze, starting from an unknown cause, was discovered as flames engulfed the building about 8 pm. wind helped save remaining outbuildings. The Hoods had little insurance, with the main building insured for £900. A similar new house would cost $2000 to $2600.
The U S Mail Steamship Company bids three million dollars for the Leviathon, tied to a six million government loan. Virgil Holsinger of Attica renewed his visit with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cadwallader. Mr. and Mrs. Oral Pearson and the latter's mother Mrs. Earnest James and June James came from Kingman Friday evening, remaining over Sunday.
