Former Brook Boy Killed At Union Bag Plant
John Allen and George Irving were killed at 12 15 a m December 28 1921 at the Union Bag and Paper Corporation mill in Kingsbury Construction Co repairs. They were on the night shift beneath the mill when a concrete pillar weighing tons toppled crushing them. Allen died from head injuries and Irving suffered fatal neck injuries. Bodies taken to morgue then Chapel for services before burial in Chebagon Michigan. Allen born Wichita Kansas April 188h age 22 years 10 months 7 days. survived by wife and family and parents in Ouaway Michigan and siblings.
