Passing of F Pioneer in Jasper County

On last Saturday evening the death of Fob English occurred at his home in Uronk at age ninety after a stroke and later attacks. A pioneer of the Newton Jasper counties, he helped shape early law and farming development. Funeral held Monday with Rev Wilson. interment in Tensselaer cemetery. Wife bedridden, daughter Mrs Carpenter among mourners.

Coroner Finds Homicide In Barrett Death

Jasper County Coroner Wielis J. Wright reports Robert Barrett died January 28, 1921, from a .22 caliber revolver wound to the coast fired with homicidal intent, the revolver found in the lands of Floyd M. Garrett.

Chicagoan Trobert Barrett Shot Near Wheatfield

Trobert Barrett a widely known commission man of the Chicago Stockyards was murdered by Floyd Garrett a Wheatfield farmer following months of disputes. The killer surrendered after seeking a doctor for the wounded man and contacting Sheriff Wonderworth. Barrett died at about sixty, after a quarrel over poultry and alleged attack on Garrett’s wife.

Memory of R. B. Foresman

R B Foresman brother of the editor of the Benton Harbor News Palladium died Tuesday in Benton Harbor Michigan after a long illness. He lived with his parents near Foresman and was a Central Normal College graduate and former school teacher in this county and in Maho. He married Vivien Kennedy in 1890 and had two sons Earl K. and George. He leaves four brothers and his wife and sons survive him. His life was marked by patience and devotion and his death followed a lengthy illness with supporters visiting his room and family gathering for the last rites. The News Palladium obituary notes he was former city clerk elected in 1918 and later endured long battles with illness, with a sanatorium stay in South Bend last year and a relapse in October.
