Terrific Snow Storm Rages All Day Sunday

A historic spring blizzard battered the region with drifting snow up to a foot deep in town and much deeper on rural roads. Cars stalled, miles of highways were blocked, and residents endured a snowy, windy day with many forced to seek shelter or rely on wagons to reach town. People recalled similar storms in 1894 and 1900, while crops lagged yet a bumper corn and oat harvest followed after mid autumn’s late frost.
