Farmers Gin Plant Destroyed By Fire In Norton
About 11:30 Tuesday night the main gin plant of the Farmers Gin Co. of Norton burned to ashes after flames spread through the building. The seed house and cotton house escaped damage but the loss neared 25000 dollars with only about one third insured. Ballinger firefighters responded but could not stop the blaze. The plant's officers include White Turner president J D Good secretary treasurer and Gordon Ashby manager. The town faces a ginning shortage as Cecil Ginen's gin cannot meet local needs.
