North Norton P T A Holds Final Meeting and Plans Picnic

The North Norton P T A met on April 29 for its final session of the term. Officers elected for the next term are Mrs. George Henry president Mrs. M L Leonard vice president Mrs. Harry Steele secretary Mrs. Tom Martin treasurer and Miss Daisy Ruth Sebastian reporter. A May 18 picnic at Flat Rock Crossing Valley Creek was announced with a 6 PM start and an open invitation to all community members to bring picnics and join in a social hour.

Texas Almanac Centennial Edition Prompts Demand for Supplement

The 1936 Texas Almanac edition marked a peak achievement for A. H. Belo in Dallas as a complete state history. A 1938 full edition was not printed, only a supplement with up-to-date data. The Enterprise notes receipt of the 1937 fiction and urges readers to order this concise history of Texas. Brookshier May Day Celebration And Baseball Victory

The Brookshier community marked the first day of May with a shared meal and about forty attendees. A Brookshier versus Norton baseball game ended in a Brookshier victory. Visitors included Abr and Mrs T W Wireless and family in Ballinger, J P Duffy and Alton Duffy, and Rev LH J James who preached at Tennyson. Diana Dean was in Ballinger, and Luther and Clayburn Boatright were in Ballinger on Tuesday.
