The North Norton P T A met on April 29 for its final session of the term. Officers elected for the next term are Mrs. George Henry president Mrs. M L Leonard vice president Mrs. Harry Steele secretary Mrs. Tom Martin treasurer and Miss Daisy Ruth Sebastian reporter. A May 18 picnic at Flat Rock Crossing Valley Creek was announced with a 6 PM start and an open invitation to all community members to bring picnics and join in a social hour.
The 1936 Texas Almanac edition marked a peak achievement for A. H. Belo in Dallas as a complete state history. A 1938 full edition was not printed, only a supplement with up-to-date data. The Enterprise notes receipt of the 1937 fiction and urges readers to order this concise history of Texas. Meanwhile Alfred Bennett family returned to Salt Lake City after a brief, hurried visit, with sad farewells to relatives and friends in McCamey and town, especially young Bennett Sen nettt.

Oak Creek school passed standardization test. Prookshier cemetery cleanup set. Mother's Day program planned at Brookshier Baptist Church May 9 with dinner on the ground.
Rev Arlyn McDaniels of Simmons University Abilene conducted morning and evening religious services at Brookshier Baptist Church.
The Brookshier community marked the first day of May with a shared meal and about forty attendees. A Brookshier versus Norton baseball game ended in a Brookshier victory. Visitors included Abr and Mrs T W Wireless and family in Ballinger, J P Duffy and Alton Duffy, and Rev LH J James who preached at Tennyson. Diana Dean was in Ballinger, and Luther and Clayburn Boatright were in Ballinger on Tuesday.
Sealed proposals for principal items of materials for an electrically operated flashing light signal project will be received at the State Highway Department in Austin Texas until 9 00 AM May 14 1937 and opened publicly. Plans and specifications are available at the State Highway Engineer's office. Rights reserved.
J. M. Jennings and George Henty oversaw the construction of a new coal bin on the school campus this week as the school board authorized the improvement.
County Superintendent Kk. C. Grindstaff reports North Norton School again achieved standardization after review this week. The confirmation underscores ongoing district efforts toward consistent curriculum and testing benchmarks across schools.
The Brookshier cast will stage The Girl in the Fur Coat on May 22. W H Cothran was in San Angelo on Wednesday. Brookshier school plans to close on May 21.
County Superintendent I C Grindstaff visited the school on Tuesday to administer the state test to all pupils. Principal A C Koenig conducted school business in San Angelo Saturday.
Brad Shaw spent Friday night with Boyvee Nichols. Ada Nichols returned to her home in Pidcoke Saturday after a three week visit with her son Sol Nichols.
