The Bronte area ponders a fall advertising push as hot July weather and heavy crops press residents. Mothers-in-law form an association to improve homes and business leaders consider pooling funds for attractions to retain Bronte's trade territory.
Rob ert Lee visited and reported dry conditions in his section of the country. The update notes arid conditions and a lack of precipitation in the area.
Alerts parents to stop children from riding bicycles or skating on sidewalks amid complaints of near misses and injuries. Warns it will be too late once serious harm occurs, urging immediate action. Mention of Mrs. Adelle Wann and Misses Lois Byrd and Nettie Faye Byrd visiting from Byrd ranch near Robert Lee and traveling to San Angelo.
The Clark family expresses gratitude to friends for aid during illness and trouble. They thank everyone for support and prayers and ask for God to reward and comfort them in time of need.
M M Evans reports a rousing star route carriers meeting at Ballinger last Thursday night. Nineteen towns were represented. Ke Vedler National Secretary of the Star Route Carriers spoke on national legislation before Congress to aid star route operators. Evans noted Vedler was an interesting speaker. Price Bankhead and RE Evans of Big Spring gave addresses.
Fr O Bond of Wellington will reach Ballinger by August 1 to take charge of service for the West Texas Utilities Company in the Ballinger area. He will replace C A Pitts who moves to Matador as local manager. Bond will supervise service in Bronte and surrounding communities.
