Austin reports Dr. Geo W. Cox state health officer warns against neglecting respiratory illness saying pneumonia can strike suddenly and may follow a cold or influenza. He urges immediate family physician care, proper ventilation, nutrition, sleep, and outdoor activity to strengthen resistance and prevent spread.
The firm announced a $50 000 pro rata subscription to U S defense bonds and will not use payroll deductions as many employees plan to buy bonds voluntarily. Management praised staff support, noting over 40 employees already serving in the armed forces with more set to join.
