Texas House Joint Resolution on Oath of Office Amended
The Texas Legislature proposes an amendment to Article XVI Section 1 to alter the oath of office for legislators and all state officers. A statewide election on the amendment would be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November 1938, with voters marking for or against the change. The measure includes a $5000 appropriation for publication and election expenses and directs the governor to issue the proclamation.
