Mickey and Rudy Phillips were the joint honorees at a Tuesday afternoon birthday party in Bronte park. Mickey turns five on Tuesday and Rudy will be six on October 1. About 46 guests attended with cake ice cream and party favors.
The message urges choosing savings bonds as a safe investment offering a $4 return on every $3 invested over ten years. It promotes using bonds to fund education, home improvements, and long term independence, noting favorable times to save and a brighter future for growth.
The Southwest Conference's second week features SMU versus Ohio State as a marquee matchup. Predictions favor SMU 27 21, Texas over Purdue 34 7, and TCU over Oklahoma A M 21 14 while Rice hosts Santa Clara 27 0. Other scores include Arkansas over North Tex 33 6 and Santa Clara over Rice 27 7.
The Bronze PTA held its opening meeting Tuesday night September 26 in the high school auditorium at 7 30. Vershal Smith directed songs with Lala Jo Holcombe on piano. Mack Powell welcomed teachers and sponsors as Supt Carroll gave the response. Officers and room representatives were introduced by Mrs Will Vhomneson and Mrs Wal Thomason, with many comments on class representation.
The Bronte Enterprise and the sixth grade won the grammar school group while the Senior Class won the high school classes. After a reception program, refreshments were served by PUPA officers Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sharp as relatives visited a brother and his family in San Angelo on Saturday evening. A nephew of theirs had eye trouble at a San Angelo hospital.
