Week of Prayer Emphasized by First Baptist Church
The W M U of First Baptist Church held three prayer meetings marking Week of Prayer. The Tuesday event at the church featured Through an Open Door with Mrs. Edward Cumbie guiding a program including Mines James Wells Ed Cumbie L E Smith Murrell Johns and A Z Denman. Twenty five ladies attended and Mrs Bill Clark led the Sunbeams with six children. The second gathering occurred Wednesday night as Rev Murrell Johns led Latin American Crusades. The final session Friday kept the church open all day for Day of Prayer.

Bake sale and car wash fund PTA queen campaign
The junior class hosts a bake sale from 9 to 12 at Sims Food Store front with cakes at 2 each and pies at 1 each. A car wash starts at 8 am at downtown service stations. Proceeds support the queen candidacy in the PTA festival with Sharon Hurley and Mike McKown in the race. Weekend guests include Mr and Mrs F P Brown and Fran of Laverne Oklahoma visiting Ronald and Mrs Walton.
