Oak Creek Village opened its new shopping and resort center last weekend near Oak Creek Lake and Blackwell. Co owner S J May said the event went well until Sunday night when an eight hour blackout halted car service and kitchen operations, leaving stores candlelit and shoppers in the dark. A family misrouted via Bronte amid heavy rain, found Oak Creek Lake instead of Robert Lee Highway and lacked gas to continue, as the village service station could not pump fuel.
