Uncle Huie laments austerity and free government pamphlets
A letter from Uncle Huie of Hog Creek ridicules postwar Britain under government control. He mocks pamphlets from Her Majesty's Stationery Office priced to educate on calves and women workers, jokes about American access, and notes Prime Minister Macmillan stating four of five Brits gamble. He argues prosperity relies on free pamphlets and laments welfare state costs.
